Adding fields:
When you add a field you can change the label of the field. Only when you add a field for the first time, change the label and save the template, Podio will save an external ID in the backend for our developers. When you change the label again it will display the new label but it will still have the same external ID as before in the back end.
First time adding a field and adding a label
In the backend:
When you change the label to
It will still look like this in the backend
To make it easy for our developer, always add fields first in English and add the app name in front. So if you are working in a app called Persons and you want to add the first name you should enter “persons first name”. After you have added the field and saved the template you can change it to just “First name” or in Dutch, “voornaam”, it will remain saved in the backend as “persons first name” for our developers.
It should look like this:
To make sure you've added all fields in the correct format (app name and label name in English) you can double check the app fields here:
Remove first field
Because of the same issue above, always remove the first field that is automatically created by Podio. It will have already been given an external ID "title" which does not tell our developers anything about the field.
Don’t forget to add single or multiple reference in relationship fields. When adding more items does not make sense, use single reference.

Add items
After you have finished the workflow add a few realistic looking items to make it easier for customers to understand the product.
